ParticipantHi Dan, I’m finally getting started assembling my printer, Order #XXXXXX. I’m missing quite a few parts that are keeping me from starting. 3 x corner brackets and set screws, 1x BL-Touch Mount, 1 x Multimaterial Hotend Mount, 1 x RearRod Guide, 2 x Lead Screw Mount, 1 x Multi Material Fan Shroud. I do have a Single Hotend fan shroud but I have a multi material hotend. There may be more pieces missing but that’s what I could see with a quick inventory.

ParticipantAs per the welcome letter, you’ll need to fill the spare parts order form from the footer of our website. Please read the form carefully and send to me when ready. Judging from the time of your order and the parts you are missing can you please confirm you are referring to the correct manual as some parts have changed.

ParticipantRight you are, I was looking at a newer assembly manual. I’m not missing as many parts as I though, still missing the corner brackets. I’ll fill that form out and send it in. Thanks. November 16, 2019 at 4:24 am #1224phongshader
Participantv2.1.4 manual page 11
Quote:Assemble and attach the X Motor Bracket and X Idler bracket to the rear of a 620mm Makerslide Extrusion. Use M5 10mm screws with Flat T-Slot nuts to secure the 6mm Laser Cut components to the makerslide. Ensure the Rail is on the opposite side to the motor. For the X Idler, use 2x F605Z Bearings installed small face to small face as done for the Y front idlers and Z Belt idler.
There are M3 T-Slot nuts in the kit but the acrylic parts are clearly cut for M5 bolts. Unfortunately they are missing. What do I order from Amazon “Flat T-Slot nuts”? Are these the correct item?

ParticipantYou have no M5 10mm bolts and no m5 flat t-slot nuts? There should be heaps in the kit???? Please fill and send the spare parts order form in the footer of our website and I’ll get some expressed on Monday. November 16, 2019 at 4:26 pm #1226phongshader
ParticipantI have the M5x10 bolts just no nuts. I appreciate the idea of expressing the parts on Monday, but unless you’re drop shipping them from somewhere closer to me than Australia, that just doesn’t make sense money or time wise. I understand you want to do right by me and I want that too, maybe I, you, we can keep track of what’s missing and when I need a part upgrade or something new from you, you can give me a discount based on what was missing? Are the nuts I listed from Amazon the correct nuts? Hmmm Im sorry about that, but yes, they should just be standard M5 Nuts, the other type which should also be in the Kit are M5 Nylock nuts. All available from your local hardware or of course amazon.
Definitely keep a list of anything and I’ll be happy to reimburse.
Dan

The nuts I was referring to were the M5 Flat T-Slot nuts for the 620mm Makerslide Extrusion. I just want to confirm that these are the correct M5 Flat T-Slot nuts for the 620mm Makerslide Extrusion.https://www.amazon.com/Pre-Assembly-Square-Nuts-Aluminum-Extrusions/dp/B01HJSGUIQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=flat%2Bt%2Bslot%2Bnuts&qid=1573878041&sr=8-1&th=1 November 17, 2019 at 6:34 am #1228dan
ParticipantNo, those are not correct. They should look like this : https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcQd0yvJF3QhJilMvBKykhoDe_r2lW0pXMNaDFz2aMp_sy6lVMMP November 22, 2019 at 4:27 am #1229phongshader
ParticipantZ motor and lead screw

I’m not sure of several things in this set of instructions. It calls for M3 slide in nuts, do you mean twist in? On the lower frame I can’t slide in nuts. Also the only M3 twist in nuts are for 2020 extrusion and don’t secure the bracket because they’re too small for the 3030 slots. the M3 washers provided are also too small in the outside diameter, they just pull through the slots of the nema 17 bracket. Another question where along the back end of the frame does the Z motor and lead screw go? There are no measurements, is it centered? Do I need to pick up some M3 3030 twist in nuts, M3 3030 slide in nuts, larger od M3 washers, and where does the Z motor and lead screw bracket go on the lower ear frame?November 22, 2019 at 7:59 pm #1230dan
ParticipantThe M3 slide ins can simply angle in. Also, you missed the note in the manual which asks you to ensure the m3 heads are seated in the end of the slot, that way they fit nicely. If you try to fit them in the channel, they just pull through. And yes, center the rear motor.

ParticipantDo you have a part# or a description for the male to male pin header you are using so I can order additional parts? I can’t find these headers that are equal lengths on both sides of the insulator, only solder in headers.

ParticipantThey’re very hard to find. Ones of unequal lengths can be made into equal lengths by sliding the plastic part down the pins (with mild difficulty) December 7, 2019 at 6:12 pm #1233phongshader
ParticipantI just found them but I would have to buy a pack of 15 @ $105 usd, overkill for what I need. December 9, 2019 at 12:22 am #1234dan
ParticipantOnly place Ive ever managed find them
edit : Just typed “Centered Pin Header” into Aliexpress and this came up :

ParticipantI did find a source, unfortunately shipping was as much as the parts… https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/PEC36SABN/S1022E-36-ND/859189?utm_medium=email&utm_source=oce&utm_campaign=2990_OCE19RT&utm_content=productdetail_US&utm_cid=375190&so=62220029&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiT1dFMU16UmhZVEkxWXpsaCIsInQiOiJPQ3NcL1VPTHFzVTJBS00rNXVUaHZFWXo1eUxxZ0p0ek15MERFaGZSbXNiNk9vRTZKdkhFV1lvR2VcLzEyQjFHVFVRQ0VNVWp0NjltV05jcEVFZE96NHYxdHVUd1phV2NmT29oa3hYMjNCbEkxSWl0cHV1bUFxYkU4M0JtVjdTZUdwIn0%3D -
